This weekend Robert and I spoke with the founder of Howling Dog Press Michael Annis along with Whitney Trettien - two of the co-editors of "Cost of Freedom: The Anthology of Peace and Activism".
This remarkable collection of activism across the country and spanning the globe is an essential element for anyone seeking solidarity, inspiration, and expression as well as for those who have not yet caught on the the crystalization of the Anti-War movement - completely underplayed by the mainstream media military infotainment complex.
Geoff Millard, President of the D.C. Chapter of Iraq Veterans Against the War spoke with us to discuss the Demonstrations/Marches/Protests going on in DC last month and future IVAW events designed to raise awareness and BRING THE TROOPS HOME
We spoke with Green Party Member Margaret Human who is running for New Paltz Town Council Former Deputy mayor of New Paltz, Rebecca Rotzler, who is serving as Margaret's campaign manager, joined us in the studio. Check out Margaret's bio.
Margaret's campaign as a Green Party Member is based on the four pillars of the party: - Ecological wisdom-Margaret will keep the Town focused on the impact of all its actions on our carbon footprint in order to reduce our contribution to global warming/climate change.
- Social and Economic Justice-Margaret will propose that the Town codify the Planning Board's current practice of requiring a percentage of affordable housing in all new developments.
- Grassroots Democracy-Margaret will ecourage the active role of New Paltz's fine volunteer Committees and will make herself available at all times for advice from Town residents.
- Non-violence-Margaret ran as a Peace Candidate for Congress in 2002 in the 20th CD against John Sweeney and supports the Town resolution against the Iraq War.
