Download Part 1 >> Download Part 2 >> Download Part 3 >> Poet David Ray joined me to discuss his collection of poems "The Death of Sardanapalus and Other Poems of the Iraq Wars" (published by Howling Dog Press) mostly written from Sept 11, 2001 through election day 2004. His words are the stone thrown and shattering the glass house of lies, misdeeds, and brutality perpetrated by the Bush Administration and he incorporates a necessary historical perspective which makes today seem like yesterday as history repeats itself against the growing tide of the anti-war and accountability movement. David Ray's poetry is a beacon to guide those whose inner voice is screaming the truth yet can not formulate the significant context to express ones frustration, anger, and rage at what is being perpetrated in their name. David Ray's books include "Sam's Book", "Wool Highways", "The Mulberries of Mingo and Other Stories", "The Endless Search", and "One Thousand Years: Poems About the Holocaust." Twice Winner of the William Carlos Williams Award, co-founder of American Writers Against the Vietnam War, and founder of the world renowned radio broadcast "New Letters on the Air" it is my profound honor to broadcast this gentleman's work. The WKNY Studio was once again graced by the presence of Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Reiki Master/Music Therapist Meryl Joan Lammers who performed her original tunes for us. Meryl's music will carry you to a spiritual place you didn't quite know existed. If you caught not one of her lyrics you'll get there; if you catch all of her lyrics you will thusly have transcended the normalcy of life via her magic.
