I spoke with Kirouana Paddaquahum about the political imprisonment of Grand
Sachem Iron Thunderhorse including a brief history of Iron Thunderhorse,
the alleged reasons for his imprisonment, and the assumed reasons he was imprisoned
- namely because of his knowledge of certain US operations in Vietnam as well
as his knowledge of North American indigenous history, culture and language.
In the first portion of today's program I spoke with
Jeff Lydon, the Executive Director of Farm Sanctuary, about Farm
Sanctuary's Adopt
a Turkey program for thanksgiving. We also spoke about the passing
of California's Prop
2 - a major win for the welfare of factory farm animals, the environment,
human health, and global moral conscience. We also discussed the actions and intentions
of Farm Sanctuary, other state and federal legislation pending, and issues related
to animal rights.
I was joined in the WKNY studio by founding members of The
Virginia Wolves - Kelly McNally (singer/songwriter/guitar)
and Adele Schulz (voice/french horn/trumpet) - for some Organic
Rock. Kelly and Adele performed songs from the upcoming album "Curse
of the Kill" - a series of peace songs with a deeply spiritual bent
and subtle political undertones which are unavoidably elicited when dealing with
the human issue of war and peace and life and death and soldiers returning from
the battlefield.
I spoke with Bruce Dixon, Managing Editor at the Black Agenda Report, about
his first in a series of articles "Holding
the Obama Administration Accountable." We
spoke of the need to the people to lobby Obama since we can see in his current
selections and projections for cabinet that he is representing the same lobbyists
(corporate donors) that fund the military media infotainment pharmaceutical
education complex and that the change we are likely to see based on the current
and potential choices is going to be more of the same and none of the change
we hoped might be 'delivered'.
In the last half hour I aired a brief interview with Gerald
Celente, Director of the Trends Research Institute regarding his
latest alert "Yes We Can, says Obama, No We Can't Says Celente" In
which Celente discusses the current picks for Obama's cabinet and what they
represent. From his article:
Long before the Election Day ballots had been cast, candidate Obama had
picked Rahm Emanuel and John Podesta for the crucial positions of Chief of
Staff and transition leader, respectively. Both are quintessential cronies,
pedigreed insiders. It would be difficult to find two individuals who better
represent the breed.
and
"Going to Summers, Rubin, Reich, Tyson, Volker and the rest of them
to fix the economy is like fighting the War on Crime by bringing in Al Capone,
Meyer Lansky, Bugsy Seagal, and Machine Gun Kelly,"
My guest co host, Shana Panchak, and I also discussed an action by Veterans
for Peace at the National Archives and our some of the ideas for
our program next week on the Prison Industrial Complex.
I spoke with Dr.
Jared Ball, again, today to pick up on our conversation from last
week under a very different circumstance - that being we have a new president
elect, the first African American President to be. The nature of our conversation
revolved around the founding principles and realities of this democracy and
what we may expect to see from President Obama based on historical precedence
as well as campaign rhetoric, campaign promises, and the likely roundup of cabinet
choices on the table thus far. Dr. Ball hosts Jazz and Justice on Pacifica Radio
out of DC - archived at VoxUnion.
He is an assistant professor of communications studies at Morgan State
University in Baltimore, MD., an independent journalist, the Editor-at-Large
of the Words,
Beats and Life Global Journal of Hip-Hop Culture and founder of
FreeMix Radio: The
Original Mixtape Radio
Show – a freely distributed monthly hip-hop mixtape
dedicated to the practice of emancipatory journalism. Dr. Ball
is navy veteran who served during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, a graduate of Frostburg
State University with a degree in history, a graduate of the Africana Studies
and Research Center at Cornell University with a masters degree in Africana Studies
and a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park where he earned a
doctorate in journalism and media studies. Dr. Ball is also involved with the
Malcolm X Grassroots Movement
and is a founder of the Congressional
Black Caucus.
I spoke, again, with Dr. Walter Brasch about eight years of Bush Administration
brutality and criminality and the undermining of the the US Constitution and
the Bill of Rights. We spoke of what Bush has done and undone during his two
terms in office, and what we might be expecting from an Obama Administration.
Dr. Brasch is an award-winning former newspaper reporter
and editor and is a university professor of journalism and mass communications,
and author of a biweekly syndicated
newspaper column. He is also the author of dozens of magazine articles,
several multimedia productions, and has worked in the film industry and as a
copy writer and political consultant. He is the author 17
books, most of them focusing upon the fusion of historical and
contemporary social issues, including America's
Unpatriotic Acts: The Federal Government's Violation of Constitutional and Civil
RightsandUnacceptable:
The Federal Response To Hurricane Katrina. Dr.
Brasch has received more than 100 regional and national media awards from the
National Society of Newspaper Columnists, Society of Professional Journalists,
National Federation of Press Women, Pennsylvania Press Club, Pennsylvania Women's
Press Association, Pennwriters, International Association of Business Communicators,
Pacific Coast Press Club, and Press Club of Southern California. He is president
of the Pennsylvania Press Club, and was president of the Keystone State professional
chapter and deputy regional director of the Society of Professional Journalists,
from which he received the Director's Award and the National Freedom of Information
Award.
I was joined in the studio by special guest co-host Shana Panchak - a bright
and spirited individual whom I figured would ad her radical and critical opinions
making for a very colorful conversation. I am expecting that she will be joining
me again in the upcoming weeks.
I spoke with Green PartyVice Presidential
Nominee Rosa Clemente about Green Party values, her involvement
with the Hip-Hop movement, journalism, and grassroots democracy. We talked about
the need for Change in America and the means to that end.

Dr. Ball and I discussed some aspects of the history of, and the future of,
this democracy built on the blood sweat and tears of genocide and slavery and
presently controlled by a corporate media and a small minority who continue
to reap the benefits from the labor of the middle and lower class - which is
intimately tied to race and gender. We discussed some means toward the end of
elevating the peoples of this nation and this planet to a world based on human
rights, equality, equity, and recognition of our state as a Global Village.
Head-Roc,
the DC Mayor of Hip Hip, and I spoke about his song Change in America (CIA)
and the core values which are lacking proper representation in this country
- as wrought in his tune CIA. We referenced his 2005 release "Negrophobia"
and spoke about his new funk/soul ensemble The
GODISHEUS (gotta see us) INternational Funk Train (The GIFT).
I
spoke again with Ellen
Hodgson Brown, J.D. about her latest publication "THE
NOT-SO-INVISIBLE HAND: HOW THE PLUNGE PROTECTION TEAM KILLED THE FREE MARKET"
and the blatant manipulation of the stock market during October, as noted specifically
in the middle of OCtober when the price of gold took a nose dive when it should
have, according to market wisdom, continued to climb against the value of the
falling dollar.

I
spoke with the Green Party
Presidential Campaign's Press Secretary John
Judge about the the National Security State, Intelligence/Money
Laundering/Drug Trade/Weapons, Assassinations, and the upcoming election. John
Judge was born in Washington, DC, part of the post-WWII baby boom. He grew up
in the shadow of the Pentagon, the CIA, and the NSA. His parents were career
civilian employees of the Pentagon; his mother was the highest paid woman employee
for many years, and was five levels above top security.
Author of Judge for Yourself, a compendium of his research articles and
lectures about covert operations, hidden history and assassinations

the release of over 6 1/2 million pages of records on the JFK assassination.
In the 109th Congress, he served as senior staff to Rep. Cynthia McKinney
(D-GA) and drafted the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Records Act.
John Judge he is also an independent researcher, author and lecturer who
has spoken at college campuses and community events
I
was joined in the studio by Hudson Valley Singer/Songwriter Liz
Welter. Liz played some tunes from her first album Grace in Chaos
(currently available only through contacting her via myspace). Liz' songs are
inspirational, revolutionary, and reach the core of our humanity. SHe grew up
in a musical family and her musicality is obvious. She is currently undergoing
a formal education in music which will, no doubt, further her vocal and instrumental
chops to compliment her gift as a songwriter.
I
spoke with Geoffrey
Millard, DC Chapter President of Iraq
Veterans Against the War, about IVAW's participation in an organized
and coordinated (with the police) act of non-violent civil resistance at the
last Presidential debate at Hofstra University during which a number of IVAW
members were arrested and physically wounded. (See article and video: IVAW
members arrested while attempting to present questions to Obama and McCain >>).
IVAW can use your support
in any way possible. Please take the time to learn about the mission, actions,
and intentions, of IVAW.
I
spoke with Max Wolff
about the disconnect between the economic crisis and the lack of meaningful
discussion in the presidential race, the passing of The Emergency Economic Stabilization
Act of 2008 and the causes for the crash of the market, as well as what we should
be expecting in the near and distant future. Max is an economist and free lance
researcher/writer. His work regularly appears in the Huffington
Post, Asia
Times, The
Prudent Bear and many other international outlets. His work can
also been seen regularly on his site GlobalMacroScope.
Based in NYC, Max does contract research on international financial risks and
opportunities while teaching in the New
School University's Graduate Program in International Affairs.
During the last half hour I chatted it up with a caller about the value of
the dollar and some other things and i played an audio clip of Congressman Dennis
Kucinich on the House floor talking about his skeptical feelings regarding a
call for secrecy in certain house hearings - which, he alleges, are to discuss
martial law - and his general impressions on the trend for a national security
state.
